The Lilly of Belgium was a propaganda film made during World War and just prior to the 1917 Revolution. The film begins in live action when a girl finds a dead Lilly in the woods. Her grandfather proceeds to tell her an allegory about an army of beetles intent on conquering new territories, but who are blocked by the beautiful Lilly of Belgium.
